Tara Smith, owner of Design Alternatives in Yorktown, chose her company name because it best describes her philosophy and unique approach to the alternatives of traditional interior design. You usually don't need to replace your "things", we just need to place them correctly so that you can appreciate them and accent your home and your style.

Tara has been in the design field for nearly 20 years. She is a member of the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce (VPCC). Tara has been featured in the Daily Press, on HGTV's show "Decorating Cents," and in the Hampton Roads Home and Garden Magazine.
